SIP School
Ramblings from the Director:
So ends another successful year. The instructors and staff are pleased to have had the opportunity to train so many people in 2007. In fact our influence could be felt as far away as the UK. The school packed for its first overseas session this past month and appears to be headed for several other international training venues. It's safe to say that there is a lot of interest in our little industry. The US market is arguably the most experienced and well entrenched. Foreign companies continue to flock to North America in an effort to "find a better way". Let's hope we can collectively lead the way to better building practices.

The individuals listed above have successfully completed all the requirements needed to achieve the status of "Certified SIP Installer". A combination of the written examination and demonstrated proficiencies have been completed to the minimum acceptable level to receive this designation. The SIPschool certifies that these participants have met the school's minimum requirements for this training session.
Attend SIPschool before the International Builders' Show in Orlando
The International Builders Show is just around the corner. The venue is once again Orlando, Florida (don't fret - it will be in Las Vegas the following year.) SIPschool will be offering Building with SIPs on February 12, 2008 at the Hampton Inn and Suites (7448 International Drive, Orlando, FL). This seminar is designed to provide the depth of information appropriate for the likes of an IBS attendee. An overview of SIPs in all their various uses will provide the audience with specifics on design, engineering, fabrication, installation, commercial application, and development. Material will be fast paced - this course is not for the do-it-yourself homeowner. Last year's seminar was hugely successful, and we expect a sold-out venue so make plans to attend soon. If you can't make the half day seminar, try to catch a brief glimpse of the rambling director during SIPA's presentation at the IBS. Seems the last three years worth of talks were good enough to get Al a repeat invitation.
Cherokee Project Continues...
The infamous Cherokee school project continues at a furious pace and has been a very successful proving ground for graduates of the SIPschool's Certified Installer class. The installers have had the monumental task of completing SIP shells on over a dozen buildings thus far. The 120 truckloads of panels have kept the crews busy as the fast paced commercial project has expanded the boundaries of SIP use on steel framed commercial buildings. Congratulations, graduates! Now get finished before Panelpalooza so we can all relax for a few days in the sun.
Panelpalooza 2008 in Cancun, Mexico
Plans for Panelpalooza 2008, the SIPschool's Inaugural Certified Installer Recertification Event, are being finalized. Our meeting will take place February 22 - 26, 2008 at the Cancun Palace Resort www.palaceresorts.com, an all-inclusive resort. SIPschool seminars will include the following topics:

2008 Classes in Shenandoah Junction/Shepherdstown, WV
Classroom time is spent at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, and hands-on experience takes place at the SIPschool shop. Shepherdstown offers many hotels, restaurants, shops and galleries in a historical setting along the Potomac River. We are easily reached from Dulles International (VA) Baltimore/Washington International (MD) and Reagan National Airport (Washington DC).
